Frequently Asked Questions What is check-in and check-out time?  Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. and check-out time is 11:00 a.m. each day. Tell me about your accommodations. Click here for a full description and photographs. Our rooms are generously sized and beautifully decorated with King or Double beds. Many face the Chesapeake Bay. Can you accommodate those with special needs? Yes. We have four (4) wheelchair accessible rooms for guests with special needs. Please let us know of any special requests when making your reservation, including dietary needs. Can I take care of my business needs while I am a guest? Yes. We have data ports for computer hook-ups in-room. There is also a copy machine (for small jobs) and a fax machine available on-site. You may also arrange to use our meeting facilities for business meetings, and we can arrange business luncheons or dinners, too. - top - How many restaurants are there on-site? There are two restaurants. One is full-service and is located just off the lobby. The Pelican Pub is for more casual fare and is located on the beach overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. What hours is the full-service restaurant open? The restaurant is open 7 days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. In the summer, the restaurant remains open until 9:00 p.m. What's on the menu? The restaurant features seafood and American food. There is a nice selection of entrees. We are most popular for our Homemade Crab Cakes, Fresh Cut Steaks and Prime Rib. We also offer a variety of pasta entrees, Homemade Eastern Shore Chowder, and a full selection of appetizers and fresh salads. It's a delicious meal you won't soon forget! What about special dietary needs? Just let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate your wishes. Is there a lounge? Yes, adjacent to the restaurant, there is a comfortable lounge where you can enjoy a quiet drink and conversation with friends. Tell me about The Pelican Pub. You simply must visit The Pelican Pub. It's right on the beachfront. You can dine on the deck overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. Many people who stay here come just to see those sunsets! What hours is it open? The Pelican Pub is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, 7 days a week. Lunch and Dinner are served. What's on the menu? You'll enjoy a selection of appetizers, sandwiches, and fresh seafood. If you like, you may also order beer, wine or mixed drinks. It sounds nice! Can I arrange for private parties? Sure! We can accommodate up to 150 people on one of the decks. It's a great tool for planning your vacation or a relaxing "get-away" weekend. - top - Do I need reservations for the RV Park? Yes, in the summer, especially on the weekends, as the park stays full during that time of year. At other times we recommend them, though you may find that we have one available should you arrive without a reservation. How do I make reservations for the RV Park? Call Sunset Beach Resort at (757) 331-4SUN or 331-4786 or Toll Free at (800) 899-4SUN or 1-800-899-4786. The only way to reserve RV Park space is directly with the property. Reservations are not available through corporate headquarters. How many hook-up are in the RV Park? There are 54 hook-ups. What kind of sites are these? We have pull-through sites. Tell me about the features of your hook-ups. Each hook-up comes with electrical, water, sewer and cable. What other information might be helpful to me? We have on-site laundry facilities, two restaurants and there are grocery stores nearby to replenish your supplies. The RV Park is located on beautiful grassy lawns and you can walk to the beach in 2-3 minutes. There are picnic tables and gazebos for you to enjoy. There is also a children's playground. We are adjacent to the Wildlife Refuge and there is lots to see and do on the Eastern Shore as well as many planned activities on-site at Sunset Beach Resort. How can I know in advance what activities might be going on during my stay? It's easy! Check out our Events Page. We have a beautiful room, The Barrier Island Room, which is available for indoor meetings or events. We also have spacious grounds that are available for outdoor meetings or events, as well as a beautiful deck overlooking the Chesapeake Bay that is available for private parties. What kind of meetings can be held in The Barrier Island Room? The facilities are suitable for a wide variety of meetings, from conferences and workshops, to lectures, community meetings, church dinners, wedding receptions, business meetings or small trade show exhibits. What other kinds of meetings or events can be held in your facilities? Almost anything you can imagine, from business functions, to civic and community affairs to private parties for family and friends. Check out our list of possibilities! Can we include a full meal, refreshments or coffee breaks? Yes. We can cater your event, whether it is a full meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner) an informal refreshment center (sandwiches or other light snacks) or coffee breaks with a full array of beverages, cookies and/or pastries. Are there facilities for a wedding and/or reception? Yes. Depending on your wishes, you can have an outdoor wedding, a beachfront wedding or an indoor ceremony in The Barrier Island Room. You may also host your reception on the grounds, beachfront or in The Barrier Island Room. Tell me about the outdoor areas that are available for parties, meetings or events. We have several areas available. There is a large area that will accommodate up to 3,000 people. Many people also rent tents when using this area. We also have smaller areas with gazebos and picnic tables for smaller parties. There is also a children's play area for birthday parties. If you are interested in an outdoor wedding or a beachfront wedding, we can also accommodate wishes for these events, too. Is catering available for outdoor events, too? Yes. We will work with you to plan a menu that meets your budget and is suitable for the type event you are planning. Is The Pelican Pub available for private parties? Yes. You can host a private party for up to 150 people on one of the decks of The Pelican Pub, which overlooks the Chesapeake Bay. How much lead time do you prefer for scheduling and planning an event? We have found that 60-90 days lead time usually works best, especially for formal or larger events. For smaller, more spontaneous events, give us a call. We may be able to accommodate you if you are flexible with your plans. Who should I contact?
